Job Description

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a capable and experienced Project Engineer to join our project teams and provide critical technical support across the full project lifecycle — from planning and design through to construction delivery, quality assurance, and handover.

This is a varied, hands-on role working on meaningful regional infrastructure projects in water network infrastructure, wastewater, roads, bridges and things civil, with close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a supportive environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities

* Support project planning including feasibility studies, cost estimates, look-aheads, timelines, and coordination with consultants, regulators, and stakeholders.
* Prepare, review and manage technical documentation, specifications, drawings, reports, procurement records, and contractual submissions (meeting minutes, notifications, variations).
* Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
* Manage material selection/specification, procurement processes (raise POs/subcontracts, track budgets/costs, handle claims/variations), and supplier/contractor liaison.
* Provide construction-phase technical support: site inspections, issue resolution, submittal reviews, progress monitoring, and quality control (ITPs, NCRs, QMS documentation).
* Champion safety and environmental standards — SWMS/SWPs review, site inductions, hazard identification, safety engagements, leadership walks, and environmental plan implementation.
* Deliver on-site operational support including document control, attendance/visitor records, training coordination, daily pre-starts/toolbox meetings, and site facility upkeep.
* Build strong collaboration and communication with internal teams (project/site managers, SHEQ, estimating, surveying) and external stakeholders (clients, regulators, community, suppliers).

What you bring:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or closely related field).
* Minimum 4years' relevant experience in civil infrastructure engineering, ideally involving design/analysis and on-site delivery of water, wastewater, or transport projects.
* Well-versed in Australian construction standards, regulations, safety practices, and contract administration.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Effective communicator with proven ability to collaborate with diverse teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders.
* Solid project management capability — able to prioritise, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Comfortable working regionally in NSW with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and community outcomes.

What We Offer:

* Meaningful Impact : Deliver projects that ensure clean, safe water for regional communities.
* Collaborative Culture : Thrive in a supportive team that values innovation and excellence.
* Competitive Package : Enjoy a competitive salary, vehicle or allowance (project dependant), and opportunities for professional growth.
* Lifestyle Location : Work in the coastal city of Port Macquarie and surrounding areas, offering a great work-life balance.
* Relocation allowance: We will support your move to the beautiful Mid North Coast.

If you're passionate about civil engineering, enjoy variety in your work, want to work with a great team in an expanding business while contributing to lasting infrastructure in regional communities, we'd love to hear from you!
