The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Estimator (SMP) to join our Sustaining Capital Projects Team. Based at our West Perth office, with occasional travel to site, this role is integral to the successful delivery of tender packages and provides critical support to both the tendering and project execution teams. You will bring strong first‑principles estimating capability, a collaborative mindset, and proven experience producing accurate, detailed cost estimates across structural, mechanical and piping disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop SMP capital cost estimates across relevant disciplines
* Prepare detailed methodologies and tender submission schedules
* Track and report on tender progress, performance, pricing and documentation
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
* Review drawings and scopes to ensure accuracy in pricing and execution requirements
* Perform material take‑offs and compile detailed cost documentation
* Review and provide advice on commercial matters, contracts and scope departures
* Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
* Ensure compliance with client QAQC requirements, company policies and procedures
* Prepare schedules and develop budgets within required timeframes
* Attend client meetings and undertake site visits to review works as required
About You
* Full Australian working rights
* Construction White Card
* Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience
* 5+ years’ estimating experience in civil, construction and piping (mining desirable)
* Strong first‑principles estimating capability
* Experience in brownfields, construction and mining environments
* Proficient in MS Office and MS Projects
* SMP tendering and material take‑off experience
* End‑to‑end tender‑to‑execution exposure (advantageous)
* Strong technical aptitude, problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail
* Able to work independently and collaboratively
* Excellent communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
