About the role- Male Disability support workers location: Sunbury VIC
Matrix Healthcare is seeking an experienced Mental Health Disability Support Worker to join our team in Western suburbs VIC. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to support our clients with their mental health care needs. As part of our dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in empowering and enabling our clients to live independently and achieve their personal goals.
What you'll be doing
1. Providing individualised care and support to clients with mental health disabilities
2. Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
3. Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community engagement
4. Developing and implementing personalised support plans in collaboration with clients and their families
5. Monitoring clients' progress and providing regular feedback to the clinical team
6. Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met
7. Maintaining accurate client records and adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
What we're looking for
1. Relevant qualifications in disability support, mental health, or a related field
2. Extensive experience working with people with mental health disabilities, preferably in a community-based setting
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients
4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a focus on person-centred care
5. Demonstrated commitment to empowering and supporting clients to achieve their goals
6. A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
7. A current Police Check and Working with Children Check
