We are looking for an enthusiastic Guest Services & Reservations Officer to join our team at Mornington Shire Council. This is a permanent role. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of our motel and accommodation operations.
The Mornington Shire Council is a Local Government Authority providing range of services to the twenty-three islands of the Wellesley Group located 125kms north-west of Burketown, 200kms west of Karumba and 444kms from Mount Isa, in the southern section of the Gulf of Carpentaria, residing within the State of Queensland. The island is 2.5 hours flight from Cairns.
What you'll be doing
· Greeting and assisting guests with check-in and check-out processes
· Managing reservations, including booking, modifying and cancelling guest stays
· Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest enquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
· Accurately input guest reservations and information with attention to detail
· Assist with long-term stays, group reservations, and special accommodation needs
· Supporting the wider Hospitality and Accommodation team as needed to maintain high standards of service
What we're looking for
· At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or reservations role, preferably within the hospitality industry
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional approach
· Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
· A logical thinker who has the ability to work independently
· Proficiency in using reservation and property management systems
· A flexible and adaptable approach to work, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· A passion for providing exceptional customer experiences
