The Opportunity As CFO, you will join a small, high-calibre senior leadership team and be responsible for the finance and governance functions of the firm. This pivotal role will help shape our client’s financial infrastructure and support its growth. You will oversee financial management and reporting across a broad investment portfolio, lead a specialist finance team, and manage key external relationships. Close collaboration with the Executive and Investment teams is essential to ensure robust, data-driven financial strategy and execution. This is a unique opportunity for a proactive finance leader who’s seeking to build a long-term career in funds management, with exposure across finance, legal, compliance, and investments. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership Lead group financial operations including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and consolidation. Oversee financial and management reporting, including group-wide consolidation and performance analysis. Provide commercial insights and recommendations to the leadership team. Cash, Tax, and Compliance Manage group cash flow, budgets, and financial controls across all entities. Lead tax strategy and compliance. Oversee annual accounts and coordinate external audits. Governance & Risk Maintain and enhance financial systems, internal controls, and compliance policies. Ensure regulatory compliance and advise on financial risk and regulatory matters. Stakeholder Engagement Assist in financial due diligence for new listed and private investments. Provide financial guidance to investee companies’ leadership teams. Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and regulators. About You CA or CPA qualified with a strong academic foundation. Proven senior finance experience in investment or high-growth environments. Strong grasp of Australian and international tax as well as listed and private investment frameworks. Experience with consolidated reporting, multi-entity structures, and month-end close. Background in funds management, family office, or private capital is highly valued. Strategic mindset with excellent analytical and modelling skills. Self-starter with a hands-on, proactive approach and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, close-knit team. Adaptable, resourceful, and take pride in contributing to a shared mission.
