* Base Salary from level A ($109,301 - $116,679) - ($122,830 - $145,858) + 17% superannuation
The Sydney Pharmacy School is recognised as one of the leading centres for pharmacy education in the world. Our team of researchers leads internationally innovative research including medication management to co-design in priority populations, as well as from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.
We are looking for a self-driven Dementia Research Fellow (Level A or B) committed to research and knowledge building that will improve safe medication use in people with dementia. You should have a proven high-quality track-record and strong expertise in codesign in people with dementia, carers and healthcare professionals with a required focus on medication safety in the community and in aged care.
This is your opportunity to lead cutting-edge, community-led research that empowers people with dementia and their carers to manage medications safely and confidently. Our research group at Sydney School of Pharmacy have an MRFF funded initiative to co-design, develop and test interventions that promote medications safety across care settings.
Our research is highly collaborative and translational, and we have strong partnerships with dementia advocacy organisations in Australia and internationally.
In this role, you will lead co-design research projects and test tools and interventions in routine care. Primarily, you will be coordinating a large national MRFF consortium partnership focused on medication safety. You will design, conduct, and publish research in collaboration with our MRFF consortium partners, involving qualitative interviews and focus groups, intervention co-design, quantitative data collection and analysis, and evaluation. You will work with a team of researchers led by Dr. Mouna Sawan and liaise with a range of academics, research and administrative staff, and industry stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research funding
* knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
* excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day to day operational matters
* maintain a research profile, including publication peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and/or seminar papers
* develop research collaborations and engage in translational research that result in knowledge transfer leading to commercialisation, improved policy or practice, or enhancement to industry, the profession or community
* maintain quality, standards and excellence in research activities and output
* provide informal mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics and supervise postgraduate research students or projects where appropriate.
About you
* doctorate or PhD in pharmacy, medicine, nursing or health sciences
* proven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity
* a developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders
* proven experience supervising and mentoring others.
