Mercure Newcastle is seeking a Full-Time Breakfast Chef to join our small kitchen team.
As our Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of breakfast dishes, from traditional hot breakfasts to healthier and continental options. You will manage the breakfast section efficiently, ensuring food is prepared on time, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully.
Key responsibilities include:
* Prepare, cook, and serve food for the breakfast buffet, showcasing variety and flair
* Ensure strict stock rotation and minimal wastage following stock control procedures
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all working areas; wash all dishes during service
* Assist with in-house functions, restaurant, and café food as required
* Ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned; report any issues to the Food & Beverage Operations Manager
Your Skills and Experience:
* Experience in buffet breakfast service preferred
* Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality food while maintaining set food costs
* Collaborate with service teams to ensure quality products and service to guests
* Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Willingness to learn and go above and beyond for guests
