About the Position
The Cancer Care Career Path is designed for nurses who have completed a minimum one year post graduate nursing experience and who have a genuine interest in cancer care.
This program aims to assist nurses with their professional development during the transition phase from generalist nurse to specialist cancer nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive and accurate patient assessments.
* Identify and implement discharge planning requirements.
* Develop and plan appropriate patient care in consultation with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
* Participate in quality improvement activities and provide high level customer service to patients, staff, and others.
* Function within a multidisciplinary team and provide assistance when and where required to meet department/ward needs.
Necessary Qualifications:
* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Completed minimum one year post graduate nursing experience.
* Desire to further education in cancer nursing.
* Commitment to personal and professional development.
* Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
* Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills.
