Due to an internal move, we are currently seeking a Senior Mine Geologist to join our Geology team at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine. This role is accountable to the Superintendent: Mine Geology and will be based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster, with direct flights from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

About the role
Ensure Mine Geology department activities are carried out safely in accordance with AGA safety standards and policies.
Effectively supervise the training and development of the open pit geology team and mentor them in all aspects of their roles.
Manage all open pit grade control processes and related production activities, and implement effective strategies for maintaining the quality of mine-delivered grade to optimise mill feed.
Ensure grade control models are generated to a high standard, using conditional simulation and other estimation techniques.
Ensure 3D geological interpretations and relevant domains are regularly updated.
Undertake the weekly and end‑of‑month (EOM) grade and tonnage reconciliations, and contribute to the EOM reconciliation report.
Plan and manage open pit grade control drilling, mapping, and sampling activities.
Collaborate with the mine planning and operational team to develop short‑ and long‑term mine plans to maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
Continually review open pit mine geology operational practices to identify improvement opportunities and initiatives.
Use experience to deliver industry best practices in drill program planning and design, QA/QC, database management, material tracking, reconciliations, and budgeting.
Complete all tasks in accordance with all relevant safety instructions, procedures, rules, and the Duty of Care.
About you
A relevant tertiary degree in geology.
Solid open‑pit production geology background, preferably in gold.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to lead a team and manage contractors.
Experience in open pit grade control, reconciliation, and resource estimation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across diverse teams.
Ability to work in a dynamic, busy, fast‑paced mining environment.
A comprehensive understanding of the mining cycle.
Proficient in 3D software packages; experience in Vulcan and Leapfrog highly regarded.
Experienced in QA/QC practices.
Ability to obtain National Police Clearance.
