Reporting to the General Manager Finance, the Manager Financial Accounting and Reportingis responsible for overseeing financial and management accounting, statutory and management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and taxation compliance.

The Role
The Manager Financial Accounting and Reporting is responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial and management accounting and reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of all financial information across BCI. This role leads statutory and management reporting in accordance with AASB/IFRS, manages month-end close processes, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting, and ensures robust financial, tax and internal control frameworks are in place. Working closely with senior leadership, the role provides timely, insightful financial analysis to support informed decision-making and effective business planning.
In addition, the role is accountable for designing, implementing and maintaining scalable financial systems, reporting architecture and data governance frameworks that enable reliable, data-driven insights for a wide range of stakeholders. The Manager Financial Accounting and Reporting drives continuous improvement across accounting processes and reporting quality, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team aligned to BCI values. The role also ensures compliance with taxation and statutory obligations, supports external audit processes, and upholds strong health, safety and environmental practices, including oversight of safety systems relevant to project operations.
About You:
We are seeking an experienced finance leader with strong technical accounting expertise, proven people leadership capability and the ability to operate in a complex, regulated environment. You will bring deep experience in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting and forecasting, alongside a strong systems mindset and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders across the business. A commitment to safety, governance and continuous improvement is essential to success in this role.
The successful candidate will also be a proven people leader, capable of managing and developing a high-performing finance team, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. A strong understanding of governance, tax, regulatory obligations, and health, safety, and environmental requirements is essential to thrive in this role.
The successful candidate will bring:
* Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA/CIMA (or equivalent)
* Minimum 10 years' relevant experience, including exposure to ASX-listed organisations, preferably in the resources or mining sector
* Strong working knowledge of AASB/IFRS, statutory reporting and tax compliance requirements
* Advanced capability in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis
* Demonstrated experience improving financial systems, processes and reporting frameworks
* Proficiency in accounting systems, ERP platforms and advanced Excel
* Proven people leadership experience and strong stakeholder engagement skills
The successful candidate will be required to provide a national police clearance that is not older than 3 months.
You must have current unrestricted working rights for Australia to be eligible for consideration.
