Role summary
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Bankstown Older Person's Mental Health Service. This specialist role provides high quality psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, intervention and consultation for older adults experiencing complex mental health problems and disorders. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence based psychological treatments, contribute specialist expertise to clinical decision making, and support consumers, families and carers through collaborative, recovery oriented care. The role also includes clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and strong engagement with internal and external service partners to enhance consumer outcomes.
Are You the Right Fit?
You are a skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologist with demonstrated experience delivering evidence based psychological assessment and treatment to older people with complex mental health needs. You are confident working independently while also contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams. You bring strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaborative, consumer centred practice that actively involves families and natural supports. You value reflective practice, supervision and ongoing professional development, and are motivated to contribute to service improvement, quality initiatives and clinical research within a public mental health setting.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
* Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
* Describe a clinical case involving an older person with complex mental health needs where you provided specialist psychological assessment and evidence based treatment.
* Provide an example of how you contributed to service improvement, quality activities or supervision within a mental health setting.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
