About the role
Scotch Oakburn College is seeking a skilled and dedicated Grounds & Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time role based in Launceston, TAS 7250. As the Grounds & Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the college's campus and grounds are well-maintained and presented to the highest standard.
What you'll be doing
* Perform regular grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and gardening
* Assist with the upkeep and repair of campus infrastructure, including buildings, fences, and other outdoor facilities
* Operate and maintain grounds equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner
* Collaborate with the College Services team to complete a range of maintenance and improvement projects
* Contribute to the overall cleanliness and presentation of the college's campus
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
* Proven experience in grounds, maintenance, horticulture, or a similar role
* Strong practical skills and the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
* Knowledge of gardening, landscaping, and basic facility maintenance procedures
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* A commitment to providing high-quality service and maintaining a safe work environment
* Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance)
