This role is key to fostering a culture of health, safety and environmental responsibility across the Northern NSW Operations leadership team. As a crucial member of this team, you will contribute by coaching, leading by example, and implementing our company's health, safety and environment strategy and plans.
Based in Tamworth, you will report to the HSE Business Partner Manager on a hybrid working pattern. The role will take lead across all health, safety and environment matters for the portfolio, implementing business and group-level HSE strategies, programs and initiatives that lead to continuous and sustainable improvements in HSE performance.
Responsibilities:
* Coach and mentor staff to develop a sustainable safety, health and environment culture
* Conduct operational risk assessments, identify and implement suitable controls for the workplace
* Conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
* Develop continuous improvement programs and strategies across the health / safety / environment spectrum
* Travel around different sites within our Northern NSW Region and Port at Newcastle
About Your Experience:
Our ideal candidate has recognised qualifications/formal training in workplace health and safety (WHS) and sound experience operating in an autonomous HSE Business Partner position within a similar business environment.
Other skills and experience key to your success include leading/implementing change through influence, prior experience in a HSE role with a proven track record in improving SHE performance in an operational role, highly developed ability to translate policies into meaningful terms, experience with critical risk management, and a highly developed practical understanding of HSE management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Recognised qualifications/formal training in workplace health and safety (WHS)
* Sound experience operating in an autonomous HSE Business Partner position
* Leading/implementing change through influence
* Prior experience in a HSE role with a proven track record in improving SHE performance in an operational role
* Highly developed ability to translate policies into meaningful terms
* Experience with critical risk management
* Highly developed practical understanding of HSE management
