With an annual revenue of nearly $60 million, Uniting WA employs over 440 individuals and possesses a diverse range of assets.About the roleFollowing recent success, Uniting WA is significantly expanding its Children & Young People services, creating an exciting new leadership role focused on business operations. This permanent, full-time Senior Manager position is ideal for a professional with strong business acumen who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.The role oversees the 'business side' of our Children & Young People programs, ensuring long-term sustainability while working with our practice leadership. You will drive growth, ensure our programs operate smoothly, remain financially viable, and align with our strategic objectives.Reporting to the General Manager, Services & Social Impact, your key role deliverables will include:Strategic Growth – Contribute to growth strategies using data-driven insights, resource planning and operational alignment with emerging opportunitiesPeople Management – Lead, mentor and support leadership teams across Out of Home Care, Temporary Care, Complex Care and Crisis Care programsFinancial Management – Develop and manage budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability across all programsCompliance and Risk Management – Oversee adherence to regulatory requirements, contracts, and implement effective risk mitigation strategiesResource Allocation – Plan and allocate resources to ensure optimal service deliveryData and Reporting – Implement systems to track and report on KPIs, operational outcomes, and service performanceContinuous Improvement – Identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and drive operational improvementsStakeholder Engagement – Liaise with funders, government bodies, and partners to maintain program funding and meet regulatory obligationsAbout youYou are a business-focused leader with experience in social services who can translate strategic vision into operational excellence. You have:Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services, social science, health child development, social services or equivalentAt least 5 years' experience managing and leading teams to achieve key deliverables, including performance management and professional developmentStrong business acumen with proven experience in budgeting, financial management and meeting contractual requirementsExperience working in government or managing government contracts, particularly in relation to vulnerable cohortsExceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate and influence both internal and external partnersA track record of implementing effective data collection and reporting systemsStrong compliance focus with experience in risk management frameworksCurrent Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and WA Driver's LicenseWhat’s on offerMeaningful work that directly impacts vulnerable children and young peopleCompetitive salary packaging benefitsCar parkingMotor vehicle allowanceThe chance to be part of an exciting growth phase in our organisationA comprehensive understanding of cultural safety and cultural governance in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Western Australia is also an important prerequisite for this position."We are committed to providing a nurturing environment where all children feel safe, valued and heard.
