PROJECT ENGINEER – Optimise Project Delivery

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of Project Engineer to manage and further enhance our established relationships. This key position within JACC's Support Unit is supported by Supervisors, Operators, Engineering, and Administration staff, reporting directly to the Project Engineer Manager.

About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, you will work alongside a supportive and collaborative team, playing an integral role in project delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
* Implementing and creating cost-effective construction methodologies and techniques
* Assisting Superintendents and Supervisors with task delegation
* Working actively with Supervisors and workforce to eliminate rework requirements
* Continuously monitoring project programs to ensure timely milestone completion while maintaining quality, safety, and environmental standards
* Identifying variations, quantity changes, and scope alterations for variation correspondence
* Monitoring daily costs and adjusting to meet productivity/financial targets
* Assisting with planning and resource allocation (plant, labour, materials, subcontractors)
* Coordinating procurement of materials and subcontractors
* Contributing to end-of-month project cost reports
* Preparing contract administration documents (NoDs, EoTs, notices, reporting, claims)
* Overseeing Quality Assurance documentation and testing
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Degree in Engineering (Majoring in Civil)
* Minimum 2 years' experience managing cost/productivity on civil earthworks/road/bridge projects
* Experience managing both Principal and Sub-Contract work
* Demonstrable track record in Quality/HSE/Environmental compliance on projects
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Project
* Current QLD Driver's Licence
