Convido is seeking a Head of Operations for its Melbourne, Australia operation. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for day-to-day operations, apartment inventory, guest service, revenue and growth aspects of the Melbourne operation. RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Leadership Responsible for overseeing the Melbourne apartment accommodation operation and its commercial interests. Develop and execute operational strategies that support business objectives, occupancy targets, and financial performance. Hands on approach to pre-arrival and pre-departure apartment inspections, along with the delivery of personal meet & greet services. Team Management Recruit, lead, coach, and manage the operations team. Implement performance management systems and promote a culture of accountability, service excellence and continuous development. Guest Experience Champion a guest-first culture; ensure swift resolution of guest issues and oversee initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and retention. Monitor and respond to guest feedback and reviews to drive ongoing service enhancements. Property and Facilities Management Oversee the quality, safety, and presentation of all apartments, ensuring they always meet operational and brand standards. Coordinate preventative maintenance, upgrades and refurbishment plans were required. Financial and Performance Management In partnership with senior leadership, prepare strategic growth plan in line with company’s overall national strategic plan. Compliance & Risk Ensure compliance with state legislation, regulatory requirements and company policies. Supplier and Partner Management Oversight and management of all suppliers including cleaners, laundry, maintenance, utilities and other. Engage with and manage all real estate and building management agents and companies. Responsible for sourcing and setup of new leased and managed apartments. Technology and Systems Drive operational improvements through implementation of new property management system (PMS), guest communication platforms, and reporting tools. Business Development In partnership with the National Sales Team, support state-based business development and account management. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 7 years’ experience in hospitality, serviced apartment, real estate or property management, with at least 3 years in a senior operational leadership role. Strong knowledge of accommodation operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, and compliance. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. High level of proficiency with PMS systems, property technologies, and digital workflow tools. Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills. Demonstrates high levels of personal energy and high productivity. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change. Please note, need for work outside of normal business hours is expected. This is a highly dynamic and autonomous role, requires excellent self-management and strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
