The Health, Safety and Wellbeing unit provides process, systems and services to support the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) to meet its responsibilities under Health and Safety Laws (Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013). People, Safety, Culture and Communications' core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural and people matters, including human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations. About the Role: The Injury Management Support Officer is an integral member of the Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance team and works closely with the local area Injury Management Coordinators. The role is primarily responsible for assisting with the administration processes for WorkCover claims which includes developing specific local strategies for each claim with a RTW need, processing of certificates, development of return to work plans and other administrative tasks as directed by the Team Leader, WorkCover and Injury Management. Some of your duties will include: Working closely and collaboratively with a number of key stakeholders. Handling sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. The role may also involve assistance with the calculation of pre-injury average weekly earnings and the processing of WorkCover payments for Corrections Victoria staff. About You: To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate: Knowledge of Victorian accident compensation legislation. Knowledge of RTW and rehabilitation of injured employees. Experience in using the use of payroll systems CHRIS21, including Time Target, is strongly desired.
