We are seeking a talented individual to join our Change and Transformation team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Delivery and PMO Lead
The Delivery and PMO Lead will be responsible for leading the PMO and Governance team and the Delivery team via a community of practice, overseeing overall program governance and reporting (both internal and external) for Mercer Super's Remediation Program.
The Delivery and PMO Lead will facilitate collaboration among program stakeholders, initiative leads, and project managers to develop and maintain an integrated program plan by consolidating individual initiative plans into a comprehensive program roadmap. The role involves establishing and maintaining robust processes for tracking, reporting, and controlling program progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, ensuring effective risk management and issue resolution throughout the program lifecycle.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract
We will count on you to:
* Lead the Program Management Office for the remediation program, defining and updating its structure, processes, and governance framework.
* Developing and overseeing program standards, tools, processes and quality control for remediation plan design and delivery
* Orchestrating prioritisation of the programs resources to support program and stream delivery
* Provide leadership and guidance to the Program Management Office team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Develop and implement program governance standards and procedures to ensure consistent and effective program management practices.
* Collaborate with program stakeholders to develop comprehensive program plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Establish mechanisms for tracking and controlling program progress, risks, and issues. This will include aggregating plans and deliverables owned by individual Initiative Leads.
* Work with the Head of Risk Transformation to coordinate and optimise the allocation of program resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, to support program delivery.
* Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring timely resolution to minimize impact on program outcomes.
* Lead the execution of quality control processes for the remediation program including overseeing evidence gathering and document control processes, ensuring robust maintenance of the evidence register and timely, accurate collection, versioning, and accessibility of all program documentation.
* Monitor and ensure program activities align with the agreed delivery framework and remediation scope, success criteria, and control effectiveness, proactively identifying areas for improvement.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the Initiative aligned Project Managers, Project Analysts and Business Analysts across the Remediation.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders, project teams, and external partners, to ensure effective communication, collaboration, and support for the program.
What you need to have:
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, preferably within financial services.
* Experience in Regulatory Remediation Plans (preferable)
* Experience in program management, with a focus on PMO leadership, preferably in a complex and dynamic organisational environment. Experience in leading large-scale transformation programs is highly desirable
* Proven experience in establishing and leading PMOs, with a deep understanding of program management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
