**Mental Health Program**

We offer one of the largest integrated public mental health services in Victoria. Our programs support more than one million people across Monash Health's geographically and culturally diverse catchment population including areas of significant socioeconomic disadvantage. We also offer regional specialist services to the south eastern metropolitan and Gippsland regions for eating disorders and perinatal mental health services.

**Wellness and Recovery Centre**

The Monash Health Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC), A Centre of Excellence in the Treatment of Eating Disorders is a multidisciplinary specialist service that offers an integrated model of care for people with eating disorders. The program encased in the WRC are:

- Intensive Outpatient Groups Program (formerly the Butterfly Day Program) for individuals aged12-24 years.
- Adult Inpatient Treatment for individuals aged 18 years or older
- Adult Outpatient Treatment

**Adolescent Medicine**

The Department of Adolescent Medicine provides expert inpatient and outpatient services for adolescents aged 12 to 18 years with a variety of acute and chronic medical problems that may or may not be complicated by additional psychiatric comorbidities. Areas of expertise include management of eating disorders, psychosomatic (mind and body) illness including and general medical illnesses such as acute infections.

Adolescent Medicine offers one of only four specialist Adolescent Medical Units in Victoria providing inpatient and outpatient care for young people with eating disorders. Eight acute beds are available for young people with an eating disorder at Monash Children's Hospital, Clayton.

These beds are for patients who require management of physical complications of their illness.

**About the Role**

The Mental Health Clinician roles on the Adolescent Medicine Inpatient Unit (Eating Disorders) will be responsible for providing high quality mental health care to young people (and their carers) experiencing the acute phase of their Eating Disorder.

This care will be provided within an evidence based specialized eating disorder framework and will encompass;
- Medical monitoring and supervision
- Nutritional rehabilitation
- Weight restoration
- Inhibition of eating disordered behaviours
- Meal supervision including family meal support

The Mental Health Clinician has an integral role to play in supporting the daily operation of the inpatient service and will work closely with the operational and clinical leads; Adolescent Medicine physicians, Nurse Co-ordinator Eating Disorders, Nurse Unit Manager and nursing and allied health staff of the adolescent medicine ward to achieve this.

This role would suit an experienced mental health clinician who is passionate about supporting the recovery of individuals with an eating disorder.

The ability to engage and work with young people and their carers on an individual level and in a group capacity will be highly regarded. This role will suit someone who wants to be part of the ongoing development of a service to improve the health and wellbeing of people with an eating disorder in a service known for innovation.

- Working with Children's Check
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications in mental health
- Proven significant clinical experience
