The opportunity
Lead the charge in making community voices heard and valued in local government. In this role you will develop, design and deliver engagement programs that draw from a range of face to face and online tools. From initiating a community engagement plan at the very start of a project, being involved in hearing community feedback and then closing a project with a detailed engagement report – you will help empower local voices to shape meaningful decisions.
The ideal candidate is passionate about community involvement and eager to grow their career in the dynamic field of community engagement. You'll be an excellent communicator, a good listener and empathetic, genuinely caring about hearing and representing diverse voices. The right person will foster collaboration, maintain strong internal relationships and be proactive in forward planning.
With our Communications and Engagement Strategy recently adopted, it’s a great time to join the team. Community engagement is a driving priority for both Councillors and the Senior Leadership Team who are committed to inclusive engagement.
- This is a permanent opportunity – working 28 to 35 hours a week + access to a flexible working arrangement
- Base Salary Range: $82,208 - $96,718 based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance
- You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace
Responsibilities
- Develop Community Engagement and Communications plans
- Develop, deliver and facilitate engagement tools and activities
- Provide analysis and reporting on engagement projects
- Assist in building community engagement capacity within the organisation
Qualifications
- A degree qualification in social or behavioural science or professional experience in community engagement
- Demonstrated negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi skilled team
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
