Aviation's carbon footprint is growing, and "net-zero 2050" is too far away. At MAKO, we're decarbonising the global fleet right now. By applying the biomimicry of shark skin to aircraft, our functional film is set to save billions in fuel and megatonnes of CO2 annually.
We are hiring a Quality Manager to coordinate our quality activities, ensuring we deliver film around the world for installation that conforms to aviation regulatory requirements.
The Mission: What You'll Do
* Systems Leadership & Sustainability: Lead the development and growth of the systems required to deliver conforming products in an aviation environment that will fly on thousands of aircraft and save megatonnes of CO2.
* Quality Governance & Compliance: Execute quality processes such as non-conformity and corrective action investigations, quality management review meetings, facilitation of audits from customers and regulatory bodies, supplier assessments, document change management and approvals, engineering change boards and material review boards.
* Operational Project Management: Drive project management of operational initiatives: track progress, measure impact, communicate feedback, and escalate changes to execution to ensure key milestones are met on time and project objectives are achieved.
* Mentorship & Team Development: Train, mentor and update team members to be competent and informed with respect to relevant quality processes and procedures – empowering them to work more autonomously and efficiently.
* Audit Facilitation & Strategy: Facilitate and lead audits from aviation regulatory bodies, customers and internal improvement initiatives
Success Looks Like
* First Month: You will familiarise yourself with our progress to date, learn about our critical objectives and capability development goals over the short, medium, and long term. You will learn about the MAKO team, our processes, and our values of lift over drag, active transparency and changing the boundary conditions.
* First Six Months: You will develop our systems to be compliant with aviation regulatory requirements from relevant aviation bodies. You will facilitate audits from these organisations for our manufacturing site.
* First Year: You will drive the successful certification of MAKO's manufacturing site though relevant aviation authorities by ensuring appropriate evidence of compliance has been collected according to documented processes and procedures
About You
* Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline
* Proven track record (5+ years of experience) of developing quality frameworks from the ground up, aligned to international standards (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100 or similar) in a highly regulated environment (e.g., aviation, automotive, medical), preferably with exposure to a start up or scale up organisation
* Experience facilitating and leading audits from the FAA, EASA, CASA or other regulation bodies (preferably in aviation)
* Experience mentoring and training a wide variety of functional disciplines across the organisation in how to ensure compliance in the execution of everyday activities
Why Join MAKO
* Impact: Aviation is one of the hardest to abate industries, and its share of global emissions is only growing. Join our mission to improve the efficiency of the global fleet and save millions of tonnes of CO2 every year.
* Technology: Our technology leverages the drag-reducing properties of shark skin to make aircraft more efficient. You\'ll be exposed to expertise and developments in materials, photolithography, fluid dynamics, and scale manufacturing.
* Team: Our team focuses on achieving our mission. We live our values of lift over drag, active transparency, and changing the boundary conditions, and we welcome new team members who want to do the same.
* Corporate Jet: We have (most of) a corporate jet. It won\'t fly, but it sure does look cool.
If you're ready to bridge the gap between world-class aviation engineering and a zero-carbon future, we want to hear from you! Apply today and help us take flight.
