This is a fixed-term contract with the opportunity to move into a permanent role at the end.
Day to day, you'll apply actuarial principles to complex business challenges — analysing large data sets, building and refining pricing models, and translating insights into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
You'll be hands-on with model development, performance monitoring and system implementation, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and portfolio outcomes in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
Based in our Chermside office in Brisbane you'll work in a hybrid model — in the office Tuesday to Thursday, with the flexibility to work from home on Monday and Friday.

This is more than just pricing and underwriting — you'll help shape how we think about risk, performance and future growth, working alongside experienced actuarial professionals and gaining exposure to senior decision-makers.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting pricing and underwriting decisions through robust, accurate and timely data-driven analysis
* Monitoring portfolio performance, identifying trends and investigating deviations from expected outcomes
* Preparing and transforming internal and external data for modelling and technical review
* Building and refining predictive models using actuarial techniques such as GLMs and machine learning methods (e.g. GBMs)
* Translating model outputs into clear insights and recommending pricing adjustments to senior stakeholders
* Designing and enhancing pricing frameworks and underwriting rules
What Great Looks Like
* Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, statistics)
* Progress toward actuarial qualification
* Strong knowledge of general insurance products and concepts
* Experience building predictive models (e.g. GLMs, machine learning techniques)
* Proficiency in tools such as Python, R, SQL, SAS or C#
* Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau
