Civil Design Engineer with a focus on water vacancy based in Adelaide
Your New Role
In this influential role, you will oversee multidisciplinary design development across a pipeline of capital works. You will work closely with engineering partners, project teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure high‐quality, safe, and sustainable design solutions from concept through to delivery.
You will play a central role in driving design assurance, managing expectations, and contributing expert insight into the rehabilitation and renewal of storage assets and other critical water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead design coordination and governance across Water Civil, Minor & Regional portfolios
* Support the delivery of capital projects including earth bank storages, tank rehabilitation or replacement, asset renewals, and regional infrastructure
* Manage internal and external design teams to ensure high‐quality outputs, technical excellence, and compliance with standards
* Facilitate clear communication with diverse stakeholders across engineering, operations, and delivery teams
* Confidently navigate challenging conversations and guide decision‐making with clarity and professionalism
* Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and safe design practices
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related)
* Proven experience managing design packages within water, infrastructure, utilities, or similar sectors
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage, influence, and manage stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to constructively handle difficult conversations and advocate for sound engineering outcomes
* Knowledge in earth bank storages, tank rehabilitation or replacement, or water civil infrastructure is highly regarded
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to shape design direction across multidisciplinary teams
