Overview
The Little Sisters of the Poor Aged Care Home in Glendalough, WA is a 60-bed residential facility committed to delivering compassionate and high-quality care. Our Mission of Hospitality is central to the service and care we provide.
We are currently seeking a Part-Time Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in baking and dessert preparation and have experience working in aged care or similar healthcare settings.
Shift Hours: Monday to Friday, 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of desserts, pastries, and texture-modified sweets
- Ensure meals meet residents’ dietary and nutritional needs, including IDDSI levels
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with HACCP regulations and FSP
- Assist in the development of seasonal dessert menus suitable for aged care
- Store and handle food safely, including stock rotation and receiving deliveries
- Use computer systems to assist with placing food and supply orders as needed
- Assisting in menu planning, standard recipe development and the dietary needs of the residents and customers
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, ideally in an aged care or large-scale catering environment
- Cert IV or III in Commercial Cookery (with baking/pastry focus preferred)
- Understanding of IDDSI Framework and texture-modified diets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Computer literacy and ability to use ordering systems to manage supplies
- Current Police Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Valid working rights in Australia
- Experience catering for 50+ people
- Knowledge of aged care food standards and special dietary needs
- A caring and respectful approach to working with elderly residents
