Your New Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Third Party, Governance & Sourcing is responsible for ensuring effective third party and sourcing management providing trusted processes, insight, advice, and guidance. drawing together a range of external and internal inputs.
The Head of Third Party, Governance & Sourcing is responsible for ensuring the group has the professional and behavioural capabilities necessary to meet the Fund's third-party needs. The Head of Third Party, Governance & Sourcing is a member of the Finance Leadership Team.
The successful applicant will have experience developing and delivering commercial strategies appropriate to an industry superannuation fund, as well as organisation wide business planning, reporting and analysis frameworks. Their ability to influence and demonstrate a high level of communication across the Fund, including internal and external stakeholders, will help them to succeed in the role.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
Third Party Due Diligence
* Supervise the implementation of clear and effective procedures to assess and rate key third-party providers, ensuring they meet all requirements to become approved suppliers.
* Oversee regular review each provider on a basis that is appropriate to their risk profile
* Ensure all non-compliance issues with third party providers are promptly identified and effectively resolved Oversee the development and implementation of Fund-wide processes, systems, and tools to enable vendor and supplier owners to properly manage and demonstrate third party risk management
* Responsible for managing Third Party Risk and ensuring compliance with APRA CPS230 requirements related to operational risk and resilience for Material Service Providers.
Sourcing
* Develop and execute the Fund's procurement strategy, aligning annual priorities and measurable actions with overall organisational objectives.
* Lead continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives in procurement processes, including policy framework updates and spend optimisation programs.
* Provide expert leadership and guidance on procurement matters to the CEO and Group Executives and represent AustralianSuper in critical commercial negotiations.
* Ensure regulatory and internal policy compliance for procurement activities and oversee all relevant technology platforms used by AustralianSuper.
Governance and Compliance
* Lead the team to operate and make decisions according to the Fund's Policies, Standards and Procedures and the Fund's Key Decision Registers and the delegated authorities
* Ensure relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met; keep up to date on all key changes to relevant regulations
* Ensure appropriate and relevant governance structures, policies and processes are followed, and advocate for continuous improvement to these
* Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund's Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management
* Implement effective risk controls on processes, policies and systems to minimise breaches and actively build and promote a team culture of compliance and risk management awareness
What You'll Need
The successful applicant will have experience developing and delivering commercial strategies appropriate to an industry superannuation fund, as well as organisation wide business planning, reporting and analysis frameworks. Their ability to influence and demonstrate a high level of communication across the Fund, including internal and external stakeholders, will help them to succeed in the role
* Exceptional leadership capability to build high-performing, diverse teams and embed a culture of accountability, service excellence and continuous improvement.
* Regulated industry experience, ideally in financial services (with exposure to APRA or ASIC preferred).
* Experience in a global organisation, ideally with exposure to Europe, the United States and/or Asia.
* 15+ years' experience in governance, procurement, third party management, or business management with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
* Advanced stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including preparing executive-level reports, business cases and performance dashboards.
* Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies, drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable cost optimisation.
