Aware, Wodonga is seeking a Full Time Disability Support worker to deliver foundation skills, lifestyle activities and community access. Consideration of a Part Time opportunity available.

Aware, Wodonga is seeking a Full Time Disability Support worker to supervise and support participants to achieve their goals in group-based activities.

Aware Program is a registered NDIS provider offering positive options for people with disability. A variety of employment, training and lifestyle opportunities are on offer alongside computer labs, classrooms, a recreation room, gym, movie theatre room and other facilities.

Core Workplace Objectives

* Liaise with relevant programs staff to discuss daily plans/participant support needs.
* Supervise and support participants to achieve their goals under supervision of programs staff.
* Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and its requirements.
* Provide both individual person-centres supports and group settings.

Workplace Tasking & Key Responsibilities

* Working knowledge of NDIS and its requirements, together with ability to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Work within a team to support participants.
* Supervision of participants in the community and at Aware facilities.
* Deliver to a group of participants in a team environment, with individual adjustments as required for the cohort.
* Transport participants in a 12-seater bus on outings to and from Aware - no special license required.
* Monitor participants safety and well-being and report any concerns.
* Demonstrate a willingness to mentor a variety of participants.

For this position with our company, applicants must:

* Have strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to establish rapport and ongoing relationships with all participants.
* Be able to work effectively as part of a strong team.
* Be highly organised and have strong attention to detail.
* Have experience and/or demonstrated ability in working within the disability sector.
* Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Have strong written and oral communication skills.
* Have basic computer skills and database knowledge.

For this position with our company, applicants must be willing and able to provide:

* Current Australian Drivers Licence
* National Police Check issued in the 3 months prior to offer and annually thereafter
* Working with Children's Check
* NDIS Screeners Check
* Certificate III in Disability or relevant industry experience
* CPR and First Aid Certificate

Work Hours

* Monday -Thursday 7:45am to 4:15pm
* Friday 7:45 to 2:15pm
* Part Time available for the right candidate working Monday-Thursday
