A well-established medium-sized manufacturing business with operations across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their collaborative finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for flexibility and long-term stability in a part-time permanent role, working approximately 25 hours across 3 days per week.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the finance team, your primary focus will be managing end-to-end multi-state payroll processing while also supporting the accounts payable function when required.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across both payroll and AP in a multi-site environment with a closely knit team.
Key Responsibilities
* Process end-to-end multi-cycle payroll across multiple states
* Maintain and audit payroll records including:
* New starters and terminations
* Salary adjustments
* Tax withholdings
* Perform pre- and post-payroll reconciliations
* Process payroll journals and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
* Manage payroll tax, superannuation, and workers compensation reconciliations
* Complete end-of-financial-year payroll reconciliations and STP finalisation
* Prepare and lodge monthly and annual payroll tax returns across VIC, NSW, QLD, and TAS
* Support the Accounts Payable function when required.
About You
* Has 3-4 years of experience managing multi-site and multi-state payroll
* Has a minimum of 2 years' experience in Accounts Payable
* Has experience using Kronos, MYOB or having experienced in manual payroll processing
* Possesses strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Familiar with Awards
* Enjoys working collaboratively within a small team environment
* Is based in Melbourne's eastern or south-eastern suburbs - Boronia
* Is seeking flexibility and work-life balance in a permanent part-time role - 3 days a week - preferably from the start of the week.
