Overview
Clinical Psychologist - Community Mental Health role with NSW Health. Location: Charlestown Community Health. Employment type: Permanent Part Time (24 hours/week). Remuneration: $55.09 - $67.15 per hour + super + salary packaging.
Join the Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service, a supportive community-based service focused on collaborative acute and rehabilitation mental health care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions for adults with moderate to severe mental health needs.
- Work across settings including in-clinic appointments, home visits, and telehealth/virtual consultations.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers to deliver holistic, recovery-oriented support.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and develop individual treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Contribute to service planning, participate in clinical supervision, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in weekly clinical reviews, case conferences, and daily team huddles to support collaboration and professional development.
About You / Qualifications
- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration, or recognised equivalent, displayed on the AHPRA website.
- Provisional Psychologists enrolled in an APAC-accredited Master of Clinical Psychology Course will be considered (Clinical Psychologists in Training). If you are in training, nominate your placement coordinator as a referee.
