The Role
We believe in the talent and strength of our team, so that, in aim to keep growing together, we are looking for a HSE Officer to join our Gransolar Australia team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The role will support the HSE Manager reviewing and updating Safety procedures.
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:
* Regularly inspecting the site to identify potential hazards like faulty equipment, unsafe working conditions, and hazardous materials, then assessing the associated risks and implementing appropriate control measures.
Health & Safety Training and Awareness:
* Delivering safety training sessions to all site workers on topics like proper use of equipment, emergency procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
* Thoroughly investigating any accidents or near-miss incidents to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent future occurrences
HSE Compliance Monitoring:
* Ensuring the site adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, including permit-to-work systems, PPE requirements, and noise exposure limits.
* Documentation and reporting:
* Maintaining detailed records of safety inspections, incidents, near-misses, training sessions, and corrective actions, and submitting reports to management.
Emergency Response:
* Coordinating emergency response procedures in case of accidents, including first aid administration and evacuation plans.
* Communication and Collaboration:
* Working closely with site management, supervisors, and workers to promote a safety-first culture and address any safety concerns raised.
Developing Safety Plans:
* Contributing to the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, including work procedures and safe systems of work.
* Health & Safety Auditing:
* Conducting regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to maintain a high safety standard.
Skills & Experience Required
* Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety.
* Cert IV in Training and Assessment (advantageous).
* Indicative Drug and Alcohol Testing course HLTPAT005 (advantageous)
Experience in:
* 2-4 years in a similar role.
* Previous experience in Electrical Balance Of Plant (EBOP)
