Join our team and help support young people in their recovery from psychosis

About Us

We offer early intervention services to young people aged 12 to 25 who are, or are at risk of, experiencing psychosis. Our multi-disciplinary team works with young people and their families to achieve functional recovery goals.

The Mobile Assessment and Treatment Team (MATT) is the first point of contact for young people, handling referrals and providing mental health assessments, including collaborative formulations, to young people and their families. MATT also offers after-hours support to current clients. Clinicians work on a rotating roster, covering seven days and outside office hours. Our team operates 364 days a year, excluding Christmas Day.

We currently have two full-time Clinician vacancies in our Southport office, working five days a week on a rotating roster. One opportunity is an ongoing role and the other a maximum term contract until December 2026, due to internal staff movements.

About The Role

Day-to-day work in MATT is varied, offering opportunities for comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, clinical formulation development, and planning recommendations in multiple areas such as functional, medical, psychological, and social domains.

Clinicians work closely with the case management team to support smooth transitions for young people entering the program. From time to time, this role may also support other areas of the service to help manage demand.

Your duties and key responsibilities in the role will include:

* Triaging new referrals and reviewing of collateral information to determine most appropriate next steps.
* Providing mental health assessments, including mental state examinations, risk assessments, case formulations and individual treatment planning to promote recovery.
* Conducting community and home-based appointments, and assertive outreach within the Gold Coast and Brisbane South catchment areas, using fleet cars.
* Liaising with internal and external services for seamless transitions for young people at risk of or experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
* Participating in clinical review meetings and presentations for multi-disciplinary team discussion and treatment planning.
* Engaging in family meetings, including psychoeducation, debriefing, and support.
* Providing Case Management when needed.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience and will range between gross $85,120 to $97,377 per annum plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits.

Who We Are Looking For

Besides your strong clinical skills, you excel in collaboration and self-reflection and are passionate about the work you do.

Additionally, you will also possess the following skills and experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or Mental Health Nursing or other relevant field.
* Proven experience in the mental health field or youth sector, with a well-established track record of supporting young people and a solid understanding of the challenges they face.
* Proven ability developing case formulation and treatment planning including delivering evidenced based interventions.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to engage with young people, advocate on their behalf and establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, clients, carers, and stakeholders.
* Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing demands, while maintaining self-care.
* Ability to use relevant technology and electronic client recording systems and data management tools.
* Passionate about working with young people and committed to making a positive impact in their lives.
* Hold a current Australian Driver's License and a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or have the ability to obtain this.

What matters most is that you'll live and breathe our values, which means:
* You are humble, human, and full of hope.
* You show up and share.
* You ask: "Why not?" and "what's next?"
* You leave a positive wake

Some Of The GREAT Benefits We Offer Include

Joining our passionate and dedicated team, you will enjoy genuine and committed support from your leaders and peers, along with:
* An extra five days paid leave annually
* Salary Packaging options to increase take-home pay
* Access to an EAP for you and your family
* Regular clinical supervision, case conferencing and debriefing
* Ongoing professional development and training including access to headspace resources and training.
