Overview
Leading a new generation of food manufacturing across large-scale muesli, cereal, and bar production, we are a proudly Australian-owned company located in Melbourne. This role requires a technical expert who will be the first point of contact for fault diagnosis, process deviation, and operator support across three production areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and process faults across the bar line, oven and packing line.
* Set up, calibrate and maintain all production equipment to specification while keeping setup sheets and parameter records current.
* Lead technical shift handover, communicating line status, active faults and equipment settings to the incoming team.
* Manage raw ingredient staging, batching and pallecon levels to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
* Lead and mentor bar line, oven and packing line operators to build a capable, multi‐skilled team.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, yield, quality and waste reduction.
* Conduct QA testing across all areas and manage allergen and changeover cleaning between runs.
* Support NPD and new product trials with technical input on feasibility and setup parameters.
* Identify hazards and ensure all WHS obligations and safe operating procedures are met across every shift.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a production operator or equivalent role in food manufacturing.
* Demonstrated equipment troubleshooting across bar line, oven or packing line equipment.
* Experience leading or supervising a small production team.
* Familiarity with BRC AA, HACCP or equivalent food safety environments.
* Strong mechanical and process troubleshooting skills.
* Solid understanding of GMP, traceability and allergen management.
* Current driver's licence and forklift licence.
* Competent in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
Desirable Qualifications
* Trade qualification in engineering, electrotechnology or food technology.
* Certificate III or IV in Food Processing or a related discipline.
* Exposure to continuous improvement, Lean or process engineering methodologies.
* Experience with NPD trials or new product changeovers across multiple production lines.
