In partnership with Plenary Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) is bringing its world-class Crowne Plaza brand to the Victorian regional city of Geelong. Scheduled to open in ****, Crowne Plaza Geelong will redefine premium accommodation, offering a sophisticated stay for both leisure and corporate travellers. It will form part of the highly anticipated Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre precinct, a transformative development featuring a 1,000-seat convention centre, exhibition spaces, and a vibrant retail and hospitality hub. Located in the heart of the emerging precinct, this 200-room hotel will feature spacious suites, an extensive restaurant and bar offering, pool, gym, and meeting facilities.
We are looking for a part-time Accounts Officer to join our team over 3-4 days to support the finance function in ensuring the smooth back-end running of the hotel. Reporting to the Finance & Business Support Manager, the Accounts Officer plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial processing in line with IHG's standards.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Assist with day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, reporting and liaison with a remote processing team
Assist with end-of-day accounting and financial reporting procedures including reconciling room revenues and working with the Front Office team on resolving exceptions
Communicating with various suppliers to resolve account queries
Liaising with department managers to ensure prompt invoice approval and processing
Balance all cash, check, and credit card transactions and compile daily financial reports
Assist with month end processes including preparing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist with inventory control and stocktakes
Uphold hotel standards with internal controls, internal audits and support continuous improvement
Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
What We Need From You
Desirable – Experience in hotel/hospitality accounting or audit or similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
Adaptable to varying situations and requirements
Highly focused and dedicated work ethic with attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously, be proactive and take accountability for workload
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and financial software
Full working rights within Australia with no restrictions
