**About the team**:
Questacon's Educator Programs team is seeking people who are highly enthusiastic about education, to deliver programs that help teachers to engage their students in learning Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM). We work with teachers and other educational stakeholders to deliver meaningful, impactful professional learning aimed at reaching under-represented audiences including women, regional and remote communities, and Indigenous audiences. The Educator Programs team is a creative, innovative and dynamic team with extensive reach, responsibility and opportunities across many areas of Questacon's business.
**The opportunity**:
We are seeking someone who is highly enthusiastic about education to assist in the delivery of _Questacon STEM Futures. _This is a program that supports teachers, school leaders and local communities to develop and sustain a local STEM Learning Ecosystem that drives meaningful change for their schools. It achieves through building educators' confidence and capability to teach Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM), supporting school leaders to embed a STEM culture and plan in their schools as well as nurturing partnerships between schools and local industry.

As part of the _Questacon STEM Futures _team, you will build connections through new and existing networks to ensure that our stakeholders are engaged in the program and its outcomes. This ensures that the program meets the needs of the local community whilst helping educators and school leaders to meet the outcomes of the curriculum. You will utilise your organisational skills to plan and execute face-to-face events across Australia, coordinating venue, travel and participant logistics. You will also be responsible for maintaining engagement with cohorts virtually through online communication channels.
You may also have the chance to support other parts of Questacon's Educator Programs including development and delivery of _Engineering is Elementary _teacher professional learning workshops.

- Have qualifications or experience in STEM, education and/or science communication.
- Have experience in coordinating events and assisting in the management of projects.
- Have the ability to build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to use initiative and work under mínimal supervision.
- Be flexible, have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
**What you will do**:
This role is essential in supporting the planning, development, and delivery of Questacon STEM Futures. They are responsible for:
- supporting the Questacon STEM Futures team with event organisation, stakeholder engagement-related tasks, and daily project management
- liaising with industry professionals, teachers, and communities to engender enthusiasm about Questacon's STEM opportunities
- developing plans and short-term objectives for programs and contribute to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives of the team
- preparing written communication and reporting as required.
**Eligibility**:
The position holder is required to:
- hold a full or P2 driver's licence,
- obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at Baseline level
- undergo a National Police Check, and
- obtain, or hold, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011.

The department does currently offer flexible work opportunities for many roles. This vacancy is ACT - Questacon - Deakin based, although flexibl
