Job Title: Disability Support Worker
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to provide support to people with disabilities in our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals to live as independently as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with daily living tasks such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills, and budgeting
* Support individuals with aspects of personal care where required
* Help plan and prepare meals, assist with light cleaning, and facilitate community connections through socializing and outings
* Accompany individuals to appointments and activities, promoting their independence and inclusion
* Collaborate with the support team to develop and implement personalized plans that meet the unique needs of each individual
Requirements:
* A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is highly regarded, but not essential
* Previous experience working in a SIL environment or supporting people with complex disabilities will be considered an advantage
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and sleepovers
* The ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including manual handling tasks
* A commitment to confidentiality, respect, and inclusivity
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and teams
* Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
* A valid driver's license and comprehensive insurance on your vehicle
* The capacity to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check, and a Blue Card
