TheE&RleadmeteorologistinvolvesworkingwithcustomersacrossAustralia,,staffwillworkdayshiftscontributingtoE&Rprojects,,attendmeetings,orparticipateinon-sitetrainingandactivities.

LeadOperationalMeteorologist:
TheLeadOperationsMeteorologistwillleadtheoperationalteamtodevelopforecastpolicy,collaboratingwithotherE&RmeteorologistsandacrossthewiderBureautoensuretheprovisionofhigh-qualityproductsandservices.
Thisrolewillbealeaderwithinthegroupdrivinginnovation,teamculture,mentoringstaffandcoordinatingservicedelivery.
DecisionSupportSpecialist–EnergyandTelecommunications:
TheDecisionSupportSpecialistwillprovidetailored,high-impactweatherbriefings,,NBNandWesternPoweronaday-to-daybasis.
DecisionSupportSpecialist–Resources:
TheDecisionSupportSpecialistwillprovidetailored,high-impactweatherbriefingsandadvicetosupportresourcescustomeroperations,principallyWoodside,duringtropicalcycloneseason(NovembertoMay).
Demonstratedexperienceinprovidingdecisionsupportservices,,plustheenergy,telecommunicationandresourcessectorsisdesirablebutnotessential.
Roleresponsibilities
Theresponsibilitiesoftheroleincludebutarenotlimitedto:
Operationalforecasting
* Responsibilityforensuringthequalityofforecastsandwarningswhichwillbetailoredtocustomersites,operationsandvulnerabilities,whichwillrequireyoutodevelopadeepunderstandingofthecustomerandthesector.
* YouwillconsultwithothermeteorologistsandoperationalteamsacrosstheBureauasrequiredtoachieveconsistentforecasts.
Decisionsupportservices
* Conveyforecastuncertaintyandsupportoperationsandplanningstafftomanagetheirweather,climate,water,andspaceweatherrisksandopportunitieseffectively.
* Monitorhigh-impactweatherandprovidereal-timeadviceontiming,location,andseverityofphenomenarelevanttothecustomer.
Engagecustomersandpartners
* Developadetailedunderstandingofweather,climate,water,andspaceweathervulnerabilityandexposurerelevanttocustomersandthesectors.
* IdentifynewopportunitiestodeliverimpactandvaluetocustomersandpursuethesewiththesupportofE&Rteammembersandinternalandexternalpartners.
* Supportengagementwithstrategicpartnersandmajorcustomers,includingmeetingcoordination,casestudyinvestigations/research,andissuesmanagement.
* DemonstratecommitmenttoAPSValues,EmploymentPrinciples,CodeofConductandtheBureau'sSocialJusticeStrategy,andsupportBureauHealth,SafetyandEnvironmentinitiatives,ensuringcompliancewithBureauproceduresandpolicies.
