SAFE Inc. (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) is seeking two passionate and skilled volunteers to join our Board of Directors.
These roles provide a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to one of Western Australian's most impactful animal welfare organisations and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of animals.
About SAFE
Since our inception in Karratha in ****, SAFE has been a beacon of hope for animals across Western Australia.
With compassion and community at our core, we've rescued and rehomed over 48,000+ healthy, rehomeable animals mainly cats and dogs giving them the chance for a brighter future.
As WA's largest volunteer-based animal rescue and rehoming service, SAFE operates through a foster care model supported by 10 regional branches and a metro branch in Perth.
Our network of volunteers, foster carers, and supporters spans the state (and beyond), united by one vision:
A future where every companion animal in Australia has a loving home and no rehomeable pet is euthanised.

About the Roles
Volunteer Treasurer
Provide financial oversight and guidance to the Board.
Ensure financial compliance, accountability, and transparency.
Advise on budgets, reporting, and long-term sustainability.
Applicants with accounting, finance, or similar professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Volunteer Board Member (Legal Specialist)
Provide legal and governance expertise to strengthen SAFE's operations and strategic direction.
Support compliance, risk management, and policy development.
Applicants with backgrounds in law, governance, or not-for-profit regulation are encouraged to apply.
Both roles are voluntary and remote; our Board members are based across Australia, including WA, NSW, and Victoria, so you are encouraged to apply even if not WA based.
These roles require 3–4 hours commitment per week.
