As the steward of the early childhood development system, the Office will act on government's behalf, and work in collaboration with the sector, to organise and connect the system to reduce developmental vulnerability.
This includes providing universal access to quality, teacher-led preschool from the age of 3, growing and sustaining a quality early childhood workforce, and greater supports and connected services for families in the 1000 days of a child's life.
About This Role
As part of the Funding Operations and Monitoring team, the Senior Funding and Policy Officer assists with the implementation of non-government preschool funding arrangements by monitoring provider performance and supporting the development and design of operational policy procedures and documentation.
The Senior Funding and Policy Officer will also support senior leaders to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and a high level of services across the funding lifecycle.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation of the State Government's preschool funding arrangements.
* Coordinate funding agreements and contractual arrangements to support access to childcare.
* Deliver complex policy and change management functions related to the implementation of preschool programs.
* Prepare and monitor high-level documentation such as policy, reports and briefings.
About You
You will bring extensive experience in developing, managing and monitoring contracts and delivering expert advice of grants management related policy, supported by strong communication skills to foster relationships across sectors. Your analysis and evaluation skills will be critical to implementing policy and processes that achieve outcomes in a complex and changing environment.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who brings:
* Proven experience in the development and management of contracts including grants management and related policy.
* The ability to liaise and provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders such as senior leaders and legal advisors.
* Capacity to work effectively both autonomously and in a team, and to exercise initiative under broad direction
* Highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver high-quality documentation.
* Knowledge of the early years landscape including the roles and responsibilities of government agencies and non-government stakeholders, is desirable but not essential

Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.
Additional Note
This is a full-time term contract role (1.0 FTE) until the end of May 2025, with the potential to be extended/made ongoing.
