About the role
SciAps is a global leader in handheld elemental and mineralogical analysis, providing cutting-edge portable instruments used across industries such as oil & gas, aerospace, mining, environmental science, and plant biology. Our advanced technologies include X-ray fluorescence (XRF), laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), and now near-infrared spectroscopy (Vis-NIR), enabling real-time, in-field results with lab-grade performance.
We are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Service Technician to join our team in the Greater Perth Area. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and field service of SciAps' range of portable analytical instruments. You'll work directly with customers to ensure equipment reliability and satisfaction, playing a key role in upholding SciAps' reputation for technical excellence and responsive service.
What you will bring to the role:
* Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on handheld analytical instruments (XRF, LIBS, Vis-NIR).
* Conduct on-site field service visits and remote troubleshooting support.
* Deliver technical support and training to customers with a strong focus on service excellence.
* Collaborate with internal teams to identify product issues and provide feedback for improvement.
* Maintain detailed service records and documentation in line with company protocols.
About you:
* Experience with analytical instrumentation, electronics, or electromechanical systems.
* Background in service, maintenance, or technical support roles (field-based or in-house).
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities.
* Willingness to travel for field service work across the region as required.
* Relevant technical certification or degree (e.g. electronics, instrumentation, engineering) preferred.
