Overview

Are you driven to inspire, shape and mentor the next generation of Queensland's healthcare workforce? Bring your passion for education to Mater Education. Join Australia's only hospital-based Registered Training Organisation and contribute to Mater's century-long tradition of developing new generations of healthcare workers. Mater Education is looking for an Educator to join the Townsville team. This is a permanent, full-time role based at the Mater Private Hospital Townsville campus. The RTO Educator will deliver and assess education and training within the Registered Training Organisation. You will be responsible for student management and for ensuring excellence in educational outcomes aligned to our mission and values. You will support students within the classroom, simulated labs, workplace and online learning environments with a focus on student engagement, progression and success.


Responsibilities

* Utilise flexible, blended and inclusive learning techniques and products responsive to various student cohorts, including commencing students and those with priority needs.
* Design, develop, implement and evaluate teaching and learning resources, assessment tools and processes that meet industry skills standards (i.e., endorsed components from National Training Packages).
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality of training and assessment for students.
* Assist in delivery of certificate programs on campus, which may include school-based students.
* Contribute to Vocational Education Training in Schools (VETiS) cohorts at various locations, including local schools within the Townsville region.
* Develop effective working relationships with students, client groups and staff; participate in team meetings, student events and forums and invite feedback.
* Ensure safety and sustainability practices in the learning and assessment environment.
* Contribute to planning, design, development, implementation and review of educational programs.
* Manage assessment of student competence and provide constructive feedback to promote positive outcomes.
* Engage in professional learning to maintain currency in industry and pedagogy for learning, teaching and assessment.
* Attend and contribute to team meetings, events and information sessions as required.
* Undertake general administration duties including marking, monitoring attendance and progression, providing educational support and feedback.
* Manage student portfolios and related student management activities.


Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse
* Demonstrated understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and experience in an RTO environment
* Detailed understanding of relevant profession and accreditation requirements
* Ability to apply conflict resolution skills in the student environment
* Enthusiastic and engaging with strong knowledge of the relevant industry
* Adherence to Policies and Procedures and industry requirements
* Ability to work well with peer educators and as part of a team
* Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE)
* Valid Working with Children Card (Blue Card) or eligible to apply
* Current Drivers Licence
* Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
