The Prescott Environmental Luminescence Laboratory is seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Data Insights Specialist. This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves transforming raw data into meaningful insights.
This is a fixed-term full-time position for 18 months, providing an opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a significant impact in the field of environmental luminescence.
The successful applicant will work closely with physicists and engineers to develop and optimise data pipelines, applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to extract valuable insights from large datasets.
This role offers a unique chance to specialise in areas such as software development, electronics, or mechanical design, depending on your strengths and interests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and optimising data pipelines using Python and relevant scientific libraries.
* Applying advanced statistical and machine learning methods to extract insights from large datasets.
* Ensuring reproducibility and scalability of analysis routines using version control systems.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across research and technical domains.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated experience in Python for data analysis, including scientific libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
* Experience working with spectral and/or imaging datasets, including multivariate statistical techniques.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
