About the role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, this is a true hunter role with a relationship edge. You'll be out in market developing your territory, chasing new opportunities and bringing new customers on board, while also strengthening and growing our existing wholesale partnerships. You'll take full ownership of your territory, building a strong pipeline, converting opportunities, and delivering a consistently high standard of service that reflects the Merlo brand. Merlo Coffee is a leading independently owned specialty coffee roaster in Australia, supplying more than 1,700 cafés and restaurants.

What You'll be doing
* Managing and growing a portfolio of wholesale cafés, workplace and hospitality customers
* Actively developing your territory—identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities
* Building and maintaining a strong pipeline through networking and proactive prospecting
* Strengthening existing relationships to unlock further growth and long‐term value
* Acting as the primary point of contact for all customer needs and enquiries
* Conducting regular customer visits and maintaining accurate activity reporting
* Coordinating onboarding of new customers to ensure a seamless experience
* Supporting equipment servicing schedules and coordinating with internal teams
* Partnering with our Coffee Trainers to deliver training and elevate customer capability
* Monitoring sales performance and contributing to weekly and monthly reporting
What We're Looking For
* Proven account management experience in FMCG, sales, or a similar commercial role
* A natural hunter mindset with a track record of winning new business
* Strong ability to build and maintain long‐term customer relationships
* Commercially astute with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities
* Highly organised, self‐motivated and comfortable working autonomously in a field‐based role
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Passion for coffee and delivering exceptional customer experiences
