St Vincent de Paul Society Housing Australia (SVdPSHA) is a Tier 1 Registered Community Housing Company that aims to build more socially inclusive neighbourhoods by providing appropriate, secure and affordable housing to those who are homeless or disadvantaged including those reliant on low and moderate incomes or have a disability and struggling to find a home in Australia's challenging private rental market. With an exciting growth strategy across Australia, we are expanding our team in South Australia who are responsible for SA and TAS.
Maintenance Officer - Full Time
Level 4 - SCHADS
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Property Maintenance: Responsible for arranging responsive and planning property maintenance to ensure all dwellings remain safe, functional, and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
* Quality, Time & Budget Control: Ensures maintenance work is completed within set timeframes and budgets, while maintaining high standards of quality and considering the lifecycle of building components.
* Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination: Engages with contractors, technical consultants, and internal teams to coordinate repairs, inspections, and ensure effective communication and follow-up.
* Community Engagement: Interacts professionally with a diverse range of tenants, including individuals experiencing vulnerability or complex behaviours, with empathy and respect.
Essential Criteria:
* Requires knowledge of WHS practices, confidence in written and verbal communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly (Zavanti) and SPM Assets (essential)
* Ability to maintain records of compliance checks, certifications, and safety audits.
* Previous experience in the social/community housing sector
* Strong understanding of Responsive maintenance, including asset tracking, maintenance.
* Demonstrated fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Current SA driving license / White Card
* National Police Clearance
* Satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
* Knowledge of the National Construction Code
* Experience in working with teams & dealing with contractors
* Willingness for interstate travel
