- Remuneration: $26.72 per hour
**_About the role_**
The Handyperson is responsible for providing safe and courteous maintenance services including
- Being part of the maintenance team and assist with providing a handyman service to all sections of the hospital.
- Specific duties include assisting tradesmen
- Moving furniture and equipment throughout the Hospital, and cleaning workshops.
- Assist with the maintenance of Group 3 equipment.
- Assist electrician with tag and testing of electrical appliances.
- Driving to carry out pickups and deliveries as required.
- Assist with fund raising activities and hospital functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice in accordance with Calvary and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, the position description, Code of Conduct and industrial agreements.
- Work in accordance with the mission and vision of Calvary and actively participate in developing a culture that promotes Calvary's values of healing, hospitality, stewardship and respect.
- Ability to organise and perform stated duties.
- Is punctual and notifies supervisor of absences.
- Duties are performed in an orderly and timely fashion.
**_What you bring_**
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
- Previous experience as a Handy Person.
- Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
- The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement. Leave types may include but not limited to Long Service Leave, Annual Leave and Sick Leave. Applicants are encouraged to discuss this with the Convenor for further information._
