* Location: Willing to consider candidates across all NSW locations. Preference will be given to candidates based regionally, with a focus on Queanbeyan, Armidale, Dubbo and Coffs Harbour
* Clerk Grade 3/4 – Salary range $84,659 - $92,701pa plus superannuation and leave loading

About the Roles

Licensing Clerk

This role provides administrative and regulatory support to licensing and accreditation programs that underpin animal welfare and animal research compliance across NSW.

As a Licensing Clerk you will support the administration of licensing and accreditation under the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986 and the Animal Research Act 1985. You will work as part of a collaborative team to ensure applications are processed accurately, records are maintained, and stakeholders receive clear and timely information.

In this role you will;

* Coordinate the assessment and processing of licence and accreditation applications.
* Maintain licensing and accreditation records within approved systems.
* Respond to enquiries about regulatory approval processes and timeframes.
* Produce routine reports from licensing systems and databases.
* Provide information and guidance to licence holders, applicants and the public.

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong administrative skills and an interest in regulatory work.

You will demonstrate:

* The ability to work in a fast‐paced environment with competing priorities
* Sound organisational skills and attention to detail
* Have experience in a similar regulatory or administrative role and are ready to step up to the next level or take on a new challenge
* Experience in an administrative, regulatory, or compliance-support role, or readiness to develop in this space
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence using databases and business systems
* A collaborative approach and willingness to learn legislative and policy frameworks

Licensing & Accreditation Officer

This role plays a key part in administering licensing and accreditation programs that underpin Biosecurity, Food Authority, Hemp and Poppies industries, across NSW.

As a Licensing & Accreditation Officer, you will apply your regulatory administration experience to assess applications, maintain high‐quality records, and provide accurate advice to stakeholders. You will contribute to continuous improvement and support the effective delivery of licensing and accreditation functions under established legislation.

In this role you will:

* Coordinate and process licencing, accreditation, and registration applications
* Maintain accurate, compliant records within licensing systems
* Generate reports to support monitoring, compliance, and decision-making
* Provide timely, customer-focused advice to industry and community stakeholders
* Contribute to service improvements, system enhancements, and procedural reviews

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced regulatory administrator strong regulatory judgement and customer-focused mindset.

You will demonstrate:

* Proven experience processing licences or accreditations within a regulatory framework
* Strong record‐keeping and data management skills
* Experience producing reports from licensing or compliance systems
* The ability to manage competing priorities and meet statutory timeframes
* A commitment to high‐quality customer service and clear communication
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

About the Team

The Licensing and Programs Branch sits within the Agriculture and Biosecurity Division and plays a key role in protecting New South Wales' agriculture, food systems, and natural resources. The branch coordinates policy and operational advice across intergovernmental agriculture and biosecurity forums and administers a diverse range of licensing and accreditation programs.

These programs support animal welfare, biosecurity, food safety, industrial hemp, and the poppy industry, ensuring regulatory frameworks are implemented in an effective manner, aligned with community and industry expectations. The branch works closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and other regulators to deliver outcomes that safeguard public confidence and support sustainable primary industries.
