The Position
- Role: As an electrician specializing in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of the Envirocart System, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the constructability, reliability, and maintainability of equipment that will be operating across the globe, often in challenging environments.
- Contract type: permanent full-time (38 hrs/week), with some additional hours as required
- Remuneration: In accordance with industry standards and based on experience from $105,000-$110,000 per annum exclusive of superannuation
- Qualification Allowance $2,400 per annum
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan and execute the work
- Ability to fit and assemble electrical/control systems equipment to specifications/drawings to the required high standard
- Knowledge of and experience with installing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical/control systems
- Safe operation of various workshop machines whilst adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to conduct maintenance on faulty electrical equipment and tools
- Check accuracy and quality of finished components, equipment, or sub-assemblies
- Proactively supporting a clean and safe working environment
- Ensuring that tools, equipment, and consumables are effectively managed to support productivity
- Adherence to approved test procedures to support quality goals
- Participate in in-house design reviews and root cause analysis (RCA) of faulty components, assemblies, or systems
Technical Skills
- Support the testing, trouble shooting, and commissioning of the Envirocart system with the objective to improve reliability, constructability, and maintainability whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards
Materials Selection
- Work with the engineering team to select appropriate materials for subsea applications, considering factors such as corrosion resistance, strength, and durability in extreme conditions
Subsea Systems Integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical/control systems with mechanical components/systems, ensuring they function seamlessly and efficiently
Innovation and Research
- Support R&D; activities and contributing to the company's innovation efforts. Identify and evaluate opportunities for technological advancements and cost savings
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering setting to enhance constructability, reliability, maintainability, cost efficiency, quality, and safety
Qualifications
- Trade qualification required, electrician with a contractor’s license
- Proven experience (i.e., minimum 10 years preferred) in assembly, testing, commissioning, and repair of industrial electrical and control systems
- Marine experience would be considered as an advantage
Additional Skills & Requirements
- Driver's license
- Forklift license would be considered as an advantage
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team, under supervision, and independently
- Ability to work in a fast-moving ambiguous environment
- Ability to contribute to constant improvement initiatives as the company transitions from R&D; to commercialization
