1. Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Strong understanding of the financial services compliance framework, with the ability to interpret and implement compliance obligations relating to the ATO, ASIC and AUSTRAC; and/or experience in property development financial analysis, including but not limited to development feasibility modelling.
• Oversee preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG, income tax returns
and other regulatory filings.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
• Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and report variances with
commentary and recommendations.
• Provide cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
3. Management & Internal Controls
• Establish and maintain sound internal financial controls and
procedures.
• Maintain general ledger, chart of accounts and financial systems
integrity.
• Review and approve account reconciliations, journal entries and month-
end close processes.
4. Payroll & Superannuation
• Oversee payroll processing, payroll tax, superannuation contributions
and employee entitlements.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work Act and relevant industrial
instruments.
5. Audit & External Relations
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents and advisors to facilitate
audits and tax reviews.
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with external
stakeholders including banks, regulators and professional service
providers.
6. Strategic Financial Report
• Support executive management with strategic advice on capital
structure, investment decisions, and risk management.
• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business
cases and funding proposals.
• Assist in debt facility arrangement, covenant monitoring and reporting.
7. System & Process Improvement
• Lead implementation of accounting software and process improvement
initiatives.
• Drive automation and efficiency in financial operations and reporting.
8. Team Leadership
• Supervise finance staff, including training, performance reviews and
delegation of tasks.
• Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous
improvement within the finance function.
