We're seeking an experienced, passionate and hands-on Restaurant Manager to help lead our hospitality operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences in our unique vineyard setting.
The Role
Puddleduck is a relaxed and inviting destination, welcoming both reservations and walk-in guests, while also hosting a range of events and special occasions. This is a unique opportunity for a focused hospitality professional to step into a dynamic role and further cultivate the vibrant, relaxed atmosphere the venue is renowned for.
You will oversee day-to-day operations and events across our deck and outdoor dining spaces, ensuring smooth service in all seasons. The deck is designed for year-round enjoyment; warm and cosy in winter, open and airy in summer, overlooking our picturesque pond, winery and vineyard.
The role will work had in hand with our Cellar Door Manager, jointly assisting each other on days off and with administration duties.
The role will involve the opportunity to have input to the growth and expansion of the restaurant side of the business, initially and importantly with input to the menu and offering.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily restaurant operations
* Lead and inspire the front-of-house team
* Manage rostering, staff management, recruitment, onboarding and training of restaurant staff
* Collaborate closely with the broader team to create seamless food and wine experiences, in particular the Cellar Door Manager
* Ensure efficient restaurant operation whilst monitoring revenue, profitability, productivity, and customer-service standards.
* Maintain a welcoming, safe and family-friendly environment
About You
* Hospitality professional with proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Supervisor
* A positive "can do" attitude with the desire to be part of the service team as well as managing it
* Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth running of front of house/kitchen operation
* The ability to provide superior customer service and lead a team committed to do the same
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* A warm and engaging personality combined with a passion for hospitality, food and wine
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* Ability to thrive in a busy, dynamic environment whilst maintaining composure
* The ability to implement practical solutions to day-to-day situations
* Transparent, honest and reliable with an excellent work ethic
