The business continues to experience consistent customer demand and is seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a range of café meals while maintaining high food quality and kitchen hygiene standards. The role requires a reliable team player who can work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
● Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with menu requirements
● Assisting with menu planning and estimating food and ingredient requirements
● Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation
● Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment
● Portioning meals and adding garnishes, sauces, and seasonings
● Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas
● Ensuring food is stored and handled in compliance with food safety regulations
● Assisting in preparing meals for customers with dietary requirements
● Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
● Assisting with stock rotation and inventory control
● Training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required
Skills and Experience Required
● Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience as a Cook or similar role
● Relevant qualification such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher
● Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
● Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy café environment
● Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
● Excellent teamwork and communication skills
● Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
