EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation
**Your new company**
This Federal Department is responsible for implementing policy which will support a better life thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability, and their families and carers. You will join the Research and Evaluation Branch, which is responsible for ensuring that agency policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence.
**Your new role**
This role will involve managing the implementation and effectiveness evaluation of a pre-emptive pilot program for infants showing early behavioural signs of autism.
As Assistant Director, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an internal service that conducts research and evaluation using a range of methods to inform Agency decisions. You will work closely with a team of experts to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that are both efficient and cost-effective. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation
- Collecting and analysing a range of quantitative, qualitative and survey data, including coordinating other members of the Research and Evaluation Branch on such activities
- Work with internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation
- Designing and conducting other research projects, including working with people with various types of disabilities and from various cultural backgrounds.
- Communicate and support the implementation of research findings.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you must be an Australia Citizen and will demonstrate:
- Experience in using a range of sophisticated methods including quantitative and qualitative methods and embedding the participant at the heart of the work
- Demonstrated ability to work with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end formative and impact evaluations which have informed change
- Either an academic or evaluation qualifications
- Experience designing evaluations and producing evaluation logics that reflect the needs of stakeholders
