Remuneration: $68.50 - $69.86 per hour
Hours Per Week: 22.8
Location: Westmead Hospital

Where you'll be working
Join the team at Westmead Hospital, one of Australia's leading tertiary referral centres and a hub for complex cancer care within Western Sydney Local Health District. You'll work in partnership with the McGrath Foundation and a highly experienced multidisciplinary team to support people living with metastatic breast cancer. This role offers the opportunity to influence specialist cancer services while delivering compassionate, patient-centred care in a fast-paced and collaborative clinical environment.

* Work within a nationally recognised breast cancer care model supported by the McGrath Foundation
* Be part of a multidisciplinary oncology, radiation oncology and palliative care network
* Collaborate with experienced Breast Care Nurses and specialist clinicians

What you'll be doing
As the Advanced Breast McGrath Cancer Care Nurse, you will provide expert clinical leadership and specialist nursing care for patients diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Acting as a key clinical resource, you will coordinate care across the patient journey while supporting patients, families and staff through complex treatment pathways. Key responsibilities will be to:

* Provide advanced clinical assessment, care coordination and patient advocacy
* Lead evidence-based practice and contribute to clinical guideline development
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and optimise patient treatment pathways
* Deliver education, consultancy and specialist advice to staff, patients and carers
* Contribute to service improvement, clinical planning and quality initiatives

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role you will be a passionate oncology or palliative care nurse with strong leadership skills and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

* Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
* Postgraduate qualifications in cancer or palliative care nursing
* Extensive clinical experience in oncology with demonstrated specialist knowledge
* Strong leadership, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
* Ability to work autonomously while supporting complex patient care pathways

Essential Requirement:

* Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Qualification: Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty of Breast Cancer Care or qualifications deemed appropriate by WSLHD

Selection Criteria:

* Registered Nurse with at least five years post registration experience with at least three years' experience in relevant service
* Relevant post graduate qualifications in cancer or palliative care nursing
* Demonstrated expertise in assessment, diagnosis/ formulation/ management of patients with cancer.
* Proven clinical leadership capabilities with the ability to provide consultancy advice, education and support to individuals, their families, nursing staff and other health professionals.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and an ability to identify and improve opportunities to enhance continuity of care between breast cancer and other health care services.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team with high level time management, problem solving, analytical and organisational skills
* Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication, report writing and research skills.
